This is a fabulous example of an uncommon spiny trilobite. It is an excellent specimen of Cyphaspis sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. The unusual features of this trilobite are the extremely long axial and genal spines - this specimen showcases these features to perfection. The trilobite is extremely inflated and beautifully articulated. The distinct trilobite exhibits superb detail - the glabella is covered with pustules, and the bulbous eyes are on thick stalks and very prominently displayed. The long genal spines and axial spine have been prepared in a free-standing manner and are very easily seen. The trilobite has excellent natural color and is well showcased on the sculpted plate of matrix. This is a top quality specimen of a rare Cyphaspis with extremely long spines.
