This is one big-eyed bug! It is a complete Coltraneia oufatenensis from the Devonian of Morocco. This is a very difficult trilobite to obtain in good condition - and this one is excellent! One glance will tell you what this trilobite is famous for - the huge compound eyes that are elevated above the glabella. This trilobite must have been able to see almost 360 degrees! The large faceted eyes preserve the individual lenses beautifully. The trilobite is very 3-D and extremely inflated. The tail spines have been prepared free-standing. This wonderfully articulated specimen has striking, dark grey color and contrasts beautifully with the sculpted white matrix. This is a Top Quality example of one of the most sought-after non-spiny trilobites from Morocco.
