This is a wonderful specimen of Lonchodomas suriensis from the Ordovician of Argentina. This type of trilobite has a very long, extremely thin cephalic process and a wide, triangular pygidium. This specimen is nicely articulated and exhibits very fine detail. The trilobite has great color and contrasts beautifully with the matrix. The bug is well displayed on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent example of this elusive trilobite from South America.

Note: Argentina has now banned the export of all fossils. We will strictly abide by and enforce this law - we will not acquire new fossils from Argentina. However, this fossil was collected and exported prior to this law, and can be sold legally.
