This is a fine fossil trilobite. It is a distinct Phacops sp. (used to be P. speculator) from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is well articulated and extremely 3-dimensional. The robust bug is nicely prone and exhibits great detail. The granulose nature of the large glabella is clearly defined, and the large, compound eyes are wonderfully preserved. MANY of the individual lenses are intact and easily seen. The trilobite has nice natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the sculpted plate of dense limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of Phacops sp. from Morocco.
