Here is a stunning specimen of Morocconites malladoides from the Devonian of Morocco. This fossil was professionally prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This sleek trilobite has an extremely long, free-standing spine extending off the front of the cephalon. This ''Unicorn'' bug is extremely 3-dimensional and well preserved in an outstretched position. The wonderfully articulated trilobite is quite large for the type and exhibits great detail. The two-toned black and golden color of the fossil is both natural and quite beautiful. The trilobite is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a top quality display example of Morocconites - the Unicorn of Trilobites.
