This is a fine specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York. The very thin "skin" of the exoskeleton is well preserved. The fossil has good color and contrast. The trilobite is nicely positioned on the natural piece of matrix. There are also a few partial brachiopods on the plate of shale. This is a nice example of Bumastus from the Rochester Shale.
