Here is an unusual trilobite from the Ordovician of Morocco. This unidentified bug appears to be Phacopidina sp., but until more scientific work is done on this trilobite, we are hesitant to put a definitive name on it . This trilobite has been beautifully prepared in the EXTINCTIONS prep lab in Colorado. This outstretched trilobite is extremely well articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The individual thoracic segments are clearly defined and the eyes are easily seen. Some of the individual lenses of the eyes are preserved, which is unusual for this type. The colorful trilobite is well displayed on the sculpted matrix block. This is a very collectible example of this unusual Phacopid trilobite.
