Here is a highly uncommon trilobite from Morocco. This is a very large example of Cornuproetus (Diademaproetus) antlatiasus from the Devonian. This type of trilobite has a distinct, subtriangular cephalic process and extremely long, flowing genal spines. These features are beautifully displayed on this specimen. This inflated bug is wonderfully articulated and quite detailed. The large, bulbous glabella is easily seen, and the protruding eyes are clearly defined. The trilobite has thick, black-shelled exoskeleton and contrasts well with the sculpted grey matrix. The bug is nicely showcased on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a very substantial specimen of this rare Proetid trilobite.
