This is a fabulous display trilobite. It is a HUGE Phacops sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen has been expertly prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab here in Colorado. This trilobite is extremely large for the type and extremely 3-dimensional. The robust bug is nicely articulated and exhibits great detail. The granulose nature of the large glabella is clearly defined, and the large, compound eyes are wonderfully preserved. The trilobite has fantastic natural color and is well showcased on the sculpted plate of dense limestone - the entire front of the trilobite has been prepared free-standing! This is a very large, very cool specimen of Phacops from Morocco.
