Here is a striking example of an unusual type of Cornuproetus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is different than Cornuproetus cornutus in that is is quite short and has a TINY pointed snout. The bug is extremely 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The fossil is prone and exhibits very fine detail. The long, sweeping genal spines are beautifully displayed, and the small, close-set eyes are easily seen. The natural black color of the bug contrasts beautifully with the brown matrix. The trilobite is well displayed on the block of sculpted limestone. This is a very pretty specimen of a rare type of Cornuproetus from North Africa.
