This is a classic U.S. trilobite. It is a complete Arctinurus boltoni from the Silurian of New York. This is one of the most sought-after and displayable types of trilobites in the world. This specimen was recently acquired directly from the Eugene Thomas Collection. This wonderfully articulated trilobite is very prone and exhibits fine detail. The trilobite is extremely inflated, and the cephalic process (''snout'') is easily seen. The pleural spines terminate in sharp points, and the broad, fan-shaped pygidium is well displayed. The entire carapace of the trilobite is covered with distinct pustules. The fossil has great color and contrast and is well showcased on the squared matrix plate that also contains an unusual Trimerus delphinocephalus cephalon. This is a nice display example of this highly collectible Lichid trilobite.
