This is a very displayable trilobite. It is a large Zlichovaspis rugosa from the Devonian of Morocco. This amazing specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in the USA. This sculpted trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The robust bug exhibits very fine detail - the long, wide, sweeping genal spines and tailspine are intact and have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The large eyes are easily seen, and the brims of the head and tail have been painstakingly extracted from the surrounding matrix. The natural, dark color of the trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light brown limestone matrix. The slightly arched bug is beautifully fossilized in the textbook "flying" position. This is a very impressive display specimen of this large Dalmanitid trilobite.
