This is a collectible trilobite. It is a large Isotelus maximus from Ohio. This type of trilobite is the State Fossil of Ohio. This specimen is tightly enrolled - the tail is perfectly tucked under the head (see second photo). The genal spines are intact and free-standing, making for a great display. And the bug is still in the natural matrix - it has never "popped out". This is a fabulous example of this classic US trilobite.
