This is a very nice example of an extremely unusual trilobite. This is a rare Bolaspidella sp. from Utah. This specimen comes from a MAJOR trilobite collection. This type is different than most Bolaspidella - it has a row of spines on the axial lobe. This trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact. The fossil is well showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very fine example of this very uncommon spiny trilobite from Utah.
