This is a nice specimen of Onnia superba from the Ordovician of Morocco. This 3-dimensional trilobite is quite large and exhibits good detail. The punctate ornamentation on the brim of the cephalon is beautifully displayed. The extremely long, thin genal spines extend way past the body of the bug and are clearly defined. The huge, bulbous glabella is easily seen, and even the tiny, triangular pygidium is intact. The dark brown trilobite contrasts nicely with the naturally light-colored matrix. The bug is wonderfully presented on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a very affordable example of this Trinucleid trilobite from Morocco.
