This is an extremely rare trilobite association. It is a natural double of Pseudocryphaeus and Metacanthina issoumourensis from Morocco. This specimen was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. Both trilobites have exqusite detail and amazing preservation. Both are fully inflated and 3-D. Both bugs are totally complete and beautifully articulated. All four compound eyes are nicely intact - the facets display prominently. The Metacanthina is aesthetically arched with the genal spines prepared fully free-standing, and the Pseudocryphaeus is amazingly prone and has the snout, both genal spines, and entire pygidium prepared fully free-standing! Both bugs are 100% NATURAL to the sculpted matrix plate - absolutely no compositing. This is one of those rare fossils that has been professionally prepared to achieve its maximum potential. It is a stunning display fossil of an extremely uncommon trilobite association.
