Here is a fabulous example of an unusual trilobite. This is Bavarilla zemmourensis from the Lower Ordovician of Morocco. This type of trilobite has extremely large eyes and distinct axial spines. This prone specimen is extremely inflated and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The fine detail of the specimen is easily seen, and the natural orange coloration is quite striking. The fossil contrasts nicely with the light green matrix that also contains a second Bavarilla. This is a top quality specimen of a highly uncommon Bavarilla from the Ordovician of Morocco - the best we've seen.
