This is a perfectly enrolled Flexicalymene retrorsa from the Ordovician of Ohio. The trilobite is loose in the matrix. This means the trilobite can be picked up and looked at on all sides and then replaced back into the natural cavity that it was nestled in when found. It is unusual that the trilobite is in the center of a natural piece of matrix. The trilobite is 3-dimensional with great natural color and contrast. There is also an Isotelus pygidium on the same piece of matrix. This is a very fine example of an enrolled Flexicalymene from the Ordovician of Ohio.
