This is an extremely uncommon Ordovician trilobite. It is a distinct Calyptaulax calicephalus, which is unusual from this location. The trilobite is nicely outstretched and has good detail preserved. The thick shell exoskeleton is nicely intact, which is quite unusual. There are also other fossils preserved on the plate. This a rare fossil trilobite from the Ordovician.
