This is an excellent specimen of Coronocephalus rex from the Silurian of China. This type of trilobite has a small, pustulose glabella and long cephalic spines. The anterior border of the cephalon is quite crenulated, and the large pygidium has short, thin spines along the pygidial border. This trilobite is hardly ever found with the free cheeks present, but this specimen is very well articulated - both free cheeks are intact! The natural, orange-brown coloration of the trilobite is quite striking. The large bug is nicely showcased on the block of rock that has other fossils preserved. This is a top quality example of Coronocephalina from China.
