This is a beautiful Gerastos granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This large trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are intact, the pustulose nature of the large glabella is quite evident, and the eyes are easily seen. The black-brown color of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the light-grey matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a top quality example of Gerastos granulosus from the Atlas Mountains.
