This is a very nice specimen of Onnia superba from the Ordovician of Morocco. This 3-dimensional trilobite is quite large and exhibits wonderful detail. The punctate ornamentation on the brim of the cephalon is beautifully displayed. The extremely long, thin genal spines extend way past the body of the bug and are clearly defined. The huge, bulbous glabella and free standing occipital spine are easily seen, and even the tiny, triangular pygidium is intact. The red-brown trilobite contrasts nicely with the natural matrix plate. The bug is wonderfully presented on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a striking example of this Trinucleid trilobite from Morocco.
