This is a fantastic Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a striking Olenellus sp. from the Eager Formation of Canada. This specimen is quite unusual - it is much larger and displays much better than most Olenellus from this site. The trilobite is complete including the long telson (tailspine), which is quite rare. The detail of this trilobite is simply awesome - even the tiny pleural spines are wonderfully showcased. The bug is nicely inflated and well positioned on the large plate of shale that also contains smaller Olenellus heads. But it is the beautiful natural color and amazing detail that makes this bug stand out. This is easily one of the most displayable Olenellus trilobites we have ever seen, period. And the fact that the counterpart is included makes it that much more collectible. This is a phenominal example of a large Olenellus with telson intact.
