This is a flashy specimen of a very spiny trilobite. This is a Ceratonurus from the Devonian of Morocco. It has been meticulously prepared with 10 free-standing spines. The cephalon is slightly tipped down. Therefore, the occipital spines are sticking almost straight up in the air. The long genal spines extend far above the cephalon at a strange angle. Three pairs of thoracic spines are also free-standing. The trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and has good color and contrast. It is well centered on a squared block of matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of this spinose species of trilobite from Morocco.
