Here is a very nice, outstretched Flexicalymene meeki from the Ordovician of Ohio. This specimen was found years ago in Monroe, Ohio, and just now prepared. This is not the more common Flexicalymene retrorsa, it is a F. meeki, easily recognizable by the distinct genal spines on this specimen. This prone trilobite is inflated and quite 3-D. The bug has very nice articulation and exhibits fine detail. This trilobite has both free cheeks intact. The trilobite is nicely showcased on the very large plate of shale. And if that is not enough, there is a small brachiopod epifauna preserved near the head of the trilobite! This is a very collectible specimen of Flexicalymene meeki from Ohio.
