This is a very displayable spiny trilobite. It is a huge Leonaspis sp. from Morocco. This amazing specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This Leonaspis has a small occipital spine, with the genal spines and pleural spines being extremely long. This specimen has been expertly prepared, leaving the genal spines and the LONG pleural spines free-standing - in the classic "flying" position. The bug is naturally, aesthetically perched on the sculpted limestone block. This is a museum quality Leonaspis that simply displays beautifully.
