Here is a fine example of Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale. This trilobite is complete and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The bug is quite prone and displays fine detail. The eyes are easily seen and the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined. The dark brown color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is well presented on the large natural plate of shale that also exhibits many bryozoans. This is a nice specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York.
