Here is a very sought-after US trilobite. This is a complete Huntoniatonia (Huntonia) huntonensis from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This trilobite was found by Eugene Thomas in 2003 and just now prepared. This 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully outstretched and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. The inflated, protruding eyes are easily seen, and even the individual lenses of the compound eyes are almost perfectly preserved - this is extremely uncommon. The long, wide genal spines and telson (tailspine) are beautifully displayed. The trilobite has excellent color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the sculpted block of marlstone. This is a very nice specimen of this highly sought-after trilobite from the Sooner State.
