Here is a wonderful spiny trilobite. This is a very robust ''Devil-Horned'' Cyphaspis from Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. It is obvious how this type got its name - it has two long spines protruding from the glabella. This HUGE specimen has these spines still intact, and they were prepared in a free-standing manner. Along with the two nose spines, this specimen has two long genal spines that are also free-standing and beautifully displayed. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and well articulated, with its EXTREMELY LONG axial spine also free of matrix and perfectly showcased. The bug is very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibits exquisite detail. The black trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the sculpted block of dense limestone. This is a top quality specimen of this distinct spiny trilobite.
