Here is a beautiful New York trilobite. This is a very fine Greenops barberi from the Devonian of New York. The Greenops trilobite is complete and extremely detailed. The broad genal spines are easily seen, and the pygidial lappets are all intact. BOTH complound eyes display some facets, which is extremely uncommon. The thick-shelled trilobite has great color and contrast and is well presented on the large, rectangular block of shale. This is a very collectible example of Greenops barberi from the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry.
