This is a very fine Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale of New York. This trilobite is complete and very 3-dimensional. The bug is very prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present, which is quite unusual. The dark trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light grey matrix. The bug is almost perfectly centered on the large, squared plate of shale. This is a collectible example of this classic Silurian trilobite.
