This is a very unusual spiny trilobite. It is a strange Leonaspis from Morocco. This specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab here in Colorado. This trilobite is complete with both free cheeks tightly attached. The thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved. The protruding spines are long and easily seen. But the two long spines on the tail are a very unusual feature. This is a very fine specimen of this weird spiny Moroccan trilobite.
