Here is a very sought-after US trilobite. This is Huntoniatonia (Huntonia) huntonensis from the Lower Devonian. This species of Huntonia has a snout projection and a caudal spine - both are beautifully displayed on this specimen. This outstretched trilobite is very 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The distinct bug exhibits excellent detail - the cephalic process is easily seen, and the flaring genal spines are clearly defined. The eyes of this trilobite are very inflated. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well centered on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very complete example of a classic Huntonia from the Haragan Formation..
