This is one of the most distinct trilobites in the world. It is a fabulous Actinopeltis sp. from the Ordovician of Morocco. This amazing specimen is from the Ktaoua Limestone Formation, not from the more common Diacalymene concretion layers. The trilobite is complete and very well preserved. The bug displays excellent detail - the HUGE bulbous glabella is FULLY NATURAL and very easily seen. The natural black trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the lighter-colored limestone matrix. And this is a HUGE example of this type - probably the largest we've seen. This is a killer specimen of one of the most sought-after trilobites found in Morocco.
