This is a wonderful spiny trilobite. It is a fabulous Kettneraspis williamsi from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This specimen was found in 1998 and just now prepared by EXTINCTIONS here in Colorado. This outstretched trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits excellent detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The long genal spines and the thin pleural spines are beautifully displayed. The protruding eyes are easily seen, and the ''fringes'' of the free cheeks are clearly defined. The inflated bug has great color and contrast and is well showcased on the large, natural block of sculpted matrix that also contains a small brachiopod. This is a fantastic specimen of Kettneraspis from Oklahoma - one of the nicest we've found.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally. A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
