This is a very clean example of the stalk-eyed Asaphus kowalewskii from the Ordovician of Russia. This species is a favorite among collectors because of the long eye stalks. The exoskeleton of this specimen is superb. It has great color and contrast and is very 3-dimensional. The trilobite has a little hump to it, which gives the appearance that it is moving. The fossil is well positioned on a natural piece of matrix. This is a very fine specimen of the stalk-eyed Asaphus from Russia.
