Here is an excellent specimen of Lannacus sp. from the Ordovician of Morocco. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and extremely 3-dimensional. This type of trilobite has a distinctly rounded cephalon and pygidium - these features are well displayed on this specimen. The chocolate-brown exoskeleton has beautiful, natural cracking and mottling that contrasts wonderfully with the lighter-colored matrix. The bug is well centered on the sculpted, concretionary block. This is a great example of this classic Moroccan trilobite.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
