This is an essentially complete specimen of an extremely rare trilobite from the Ordovician of Russia. Our colleagues in Russia are not even sure what this specimen might be. It may be a Ptychopyge of some type or something closely related to it. The specimen is characterized by a large semi-circular cephalon with small eyes and a large semi-circular pygidium. It is unlike anything we have ever seen from Russia. And, it may be the only one we ever see.
