This is a beautiful Gerastos granulosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits very fine detail. Both free cheeks are intact, the pustulose nature of the large glabella is quite evident, and the eyes are easily seen. The black color of the bug contrasts wonderfully with the light-grey matrix. The entire fossil is prepared free-standing and is aesthetically perched on a smal limestone base. This is an excellent example of Gerastos granulosus from the Atlas Mountains.
