Here is an extremely large example of Modocia typicalis from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. Specimens of this trilobite that are larger than one inch are highly uncommon, and ones over two inches are almost unheard of. This trilobite is 2.2 inches long - WOW! This thick-shelled bug is well preserved and exhibits great detail. The black trilobite contrasts well with the grey matrix. The bug displays beautifully on the very large plate of shale This is simply a monster specimen of a Modocia typicalis from Utah.
