Here is a classic Canadian trilobite. This is Ptychoparella (=Elrathina) cordillerae from the Cambrian of BC, Canada. This wonderful fossil was recently acquired from an old collection. This specimen is from the trilobite locality that is very close to the famous Burgess Shale, and is of the same age Most dealers call fossils from this formation "Burgess Shale", but it is not . This outstretched trilobite is very well articulated and quite detailed. The fossil contrasts very well with the grey matrix. The bug is well centered on the large plate of shale that also contains a complete agnostid and MANY partials on the back side. This is an historic fossil from across the mountain from the Burgess Shale.
