Here is a highly uncommon trilobite from Morocco. This is a very attractive example of Cornuproetus (Diademaproetus) antlatiasus from the Devonian. This HUGE specimen was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. This type of trilobite has a distinct, subtriangular cephalic process and extremely long, flowing genal spines. These features are beautifully displayed on this specimen, with the genal spines prepared free-standing. This inflated bug is wonderfully articulated and extremely detailed. The large, bulbous glabella is easily seen, and the protruding eyes are clearly defined. The trilobite has thick, black-shelled exoskeleton and contrasts well with the grey matrix plate. The bug is nicely showcased on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a large, displayable specimen of this rare Proetid trilobite.
