This is a classic US trilobite. It is a wonderful Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry near Trenton Falls, New York. This is one of the original trilobites that Charles D. Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! This specimen is complete, with both free cheeks and both eyes intact. The trilobite has fine detail preserved, showcasing the pustulated, thick shell exoskeleton beautifully. The bug is very well articulated and is well showcased on the squared limestone plate that also contains a nice crinoid and a bryozoan. This is a very fine example of a classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobite and crinoid from New York State.
