Here is a large multiple slab of trilobites from the Ordovician of Morocco. There are five Calymenella trilobites and two Lonchodomas on this plate - quite unusual to have both types present on the same plate. The trilobites have excellent orangish color and contrast wonderfully with the greyish matrix. What would cause so many trilobites to be fossilized in such a small area? Was this a "feeding ground" for these arthropods or did the molted carapaces drift into a depressional area? Perhaps we will never know the answers to these questions. We do know, however, that this is a very nice plate of two very different Ordovician trilobites.
