This is a very fine specimen of Nobiliasaphus nobilis from the Ordovician of Portugal. This sleek-looking trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The large eyes are clearly defined, and the long genal spines are nicely displayed. The bug has nice natural color and contrast, and is well positioned on the large, natural plate of matrix. Many times, the trilobites from this area are on very small pieces of matrix and not very ''showy'' - ihis is one of the most aesthetic examples of this rare trilobite that we have seen. (White color on tail is natural and not artificial.)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
