This is a great example of a classic US trilobite. It is an excellent Isotelus maximus from Ohio. This type of trilobite is one of the most recognizable trilobites in the world, especially because of its large maximum size. This type of trilobite has also been officially named the ''State Fossil of Ohio''. This specimen is complete, outstretched, and beautifully preserved. The thick shell exoskeleton is intact and has great detail preserved. The chocolate-brown coloration of the bug is naturally striking. The trilobite contrasts beautifully with the large, natural matrix block. This is a very displayable, outstretched Isotelus maximus from the Cincinnati area.
