This is a wonderful pair of trilobites. It is a true Ceraurus pleurexanthemus double from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles D. Walcott and James Hall made famous a century ago! Both specimens are complete, with both free cheeks and eyes intact. There is also a tiny Ceraurus preserved on the right free cheek of the larger Ceraurus! Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a trilobite association from this locality is - it is a piece of history. This is a unique multiple example of classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobites from New York State.
