Here is a highly uncommon trilobite from Morocco. This is a very attractive example of Cornuproetus (Diademaproetus) antlatiasus from the Devonian. This specimen was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This type of trilobite has a distinct, subtriangular cephalic process and extremely long, flowing genal spines. These features are beautifully displayed on this specimen. This inflated bug is wonderfully articulated and extremely detailed. The large, bulbous glabella is easily seen, and the protruding eyes are clearly defined. The trilobite has thick, black-shelled exoskeleton and contrasts well with the sculpted grey matrix. The bug is nicely showcased on the sculpted plate of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this rare Proetid trilobite.
