This is a very unusual phacopid trilobite from Oklahoma. It is a large Viaphacops bomifrons from the Bois d'Arc Formation. This type is known for its bulbous nose and tiny faceted eyes. This extremely inflated specimen is outstretched and displays wonderfully on the large matrix block. The natural caramel coloration contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored marlstone base. This is a fabulous display specimen of this uncommon Lower Devonian bug.
