This is a nice pair of Ceraurus pleurexanthemus from the famous Walcott-Rust Quarry (WRQ) near Trenton Falls, New York. This type is one of the original trilobites that Charles D. Walcott and James Hall made famous well over a century ago! Both specimens are complete, which is quite unusual. The trilobites have good detail preserved, showcasing the pustulated, thick shell exoskeletons well. The bugs are very well displayed on the large, squared limestone plate - the larger, center specimen is extremely nice! Anyone who knows anything about the history of US trilobites knows how important a piece like this is. This is an unusual double example of classic Ceraurus pleurexanthemus trilobites from New York State.
